Estimate of Position Uncertainty (EPU)

A measure based on a defined scale in nautical miles (NM), which conveys the current position estimation performance, also known as Actual Navigation Performance (ANP) or Estimate of Position Error (EPE) in certain aircraft. The EPU is not an estimate of the actual error, but a defined statistical indication of potential error.
